# You Don't Need More Leads

Subtitle: Where businesses lose revenue they already paid to acquire.

Audience: SBA ecosystem, SBDC, SCORE, CPA organizations, business brokers, chambers, consultants, bankers, and professional associations.

Length: 5-10 minutes.

Tone: Educational, practical, non-aggressive.

## 1. Opening

Most businesses do not only have a lead problem. Many have a revenue-capture problem.

They pay for attention through referrals, ads, SEO, networking, reputation, repeat customers, and location. Then revenue leaks when the customer journey fails to convert that attention into a real conversation, appointment, sale, repeat visit, or referral.

## 2. Customer Journey

Attention -> Trust -> Inquiry -> Response -> Booking -> Follow-up -> Purchase -> Retention -> Referral.

The key question is not "How do we get more leads?"

The better first question is:

Where are people already showing interest, then disappearing?

## 3. Five Common Leaks

1. Trust leak: the business looks less credible than it really is.
2. Inquiry leak: the next step is unclear, buried, slow, or hard on mobile.
3. Response leak: calls, forms, DMs, or after-hours requests do not get handled fast enough.
4. Follow-up leak: buyers who are not ready today are left to drift.
5. Measurement leak: the business does not know which source, page, call, form, or follow-up produced revenue.

## 4. Simple Example

If a business misses five qualified calls per week and only one would have become a $500 customer, that is not an advertising problem. It is a capture problem.

The exact number must be verified with call logs, forms, close rates, and real margins. The useful move is to inspect the leak before spending more money on traffic.

## 5. Detection Exercise

Ask each owner to answer:

- Could a new visitor understand what we do within five seconds on mobile?
- Is there one obvious action above the fold?
- What happens if someone contacts us after hours?
- How fast do we respond to web inquiries?
- What follow-up happens if someone does not book today?
- Can we connect a lead source to a sale?

## 7. Q&A

Recommended discussion prompts:

- Where do your members think they lose the most revenue?
- Which leak feels easiest to fix this week?
- What would need to be measured before making a larger marketing spend?

## Guardrails

This is educational. It does not promise revenue, profit, rankings, valuation, or business outcomes. Any financial example is illustrative and must be validated against the business's real data.
